FAWCO Target Program 6 focusing on Human Rights was announced at the Biennial Conference in Annapolis in March of this year, with the goal of supporting a transformative project that strengthens human rights for all and builds resilience, equality and freedom for women and girls, aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality) and other interconnected SDGs.
After several months of thorough review and careful due diligence, the Target Selection Committee is excited to present the shortlist of three projects for Target Project 6. Each of these initiatives reflects strong potential for success and aligns closely with the Target Program 6 Guidelines.
The shortlisted projects are (in alphabetical order):
- Period Power: Empowering Girls through Menstrual Education, a project of WingWoman Lebanon (WWL), submitted by Monica Jubayli, AWC Lebanon;
- Power Her Path: Empowering Trafficking Survivors & Vulnerable Migrants to Thrive, a project of Pacific Links Foundation, submitted by My-Linh Kunst, AWC Berlin
- SHE (Strong, Healthy, Empowered) Young Women in Afghanistan, a project of Ascend Leadership Through Athletics, submitted by Stephanie Biery, FAUSA.
We encourage you to take this opportunity to learn about each project and the organization. The decision is now down to the clubs to review the shortlisted three proposals and to cast their ballots!
Ballots will be sent to each club’s FAWCO Rep on February 1, 2026. Clubs will have until February 15, 2026 (12 pm local time) to cast their votes, with one vote per club.
