FAWCO's Interim Meeting 2024 in Porto, Portugal
FAWCO’s Interim Meeting 2024 was held from Friday, March 15 to Sunday, March 17, 2024.
133 Members and 47 guests from all over the world attended FAWCO’s annual meeting of inspiration, advocacy, learning, sharing and networking.
The Interim Meeting agenda started on Friday, March 15 in the afternoon at 2 pm with a Newcomers Welcome followed by a Meet & Greet Coffee for all at 2:30 pm. General Sessions kicked off at 3 pm. The last General Session was on Sunday, March 17, ending with a final Coffee at 4:30 pm.

FAWCO Biennial Conference 2025
We are excited to announce that FAUSA we will be hosting FAWCO’s 2025 Biennial Conference in Annapolis, Maryland, USA! The conference will be held March 27–29, 2025 at the Graduate Hotel. Annapolis offers a lot to do and see… from museums to historic buildings and gardens to boat tours of the harbor, there’s something to interest all of our FAWCO and FAUSA members and guests. More information will be coming soon, so stay tuned!
FAWCO Rep Appreciation Awards
Awards were given to Jordan Beck Wagner, AWC Hamburg, Madeline Hendricks, AWC Amsterdam, Margie O'Rourke, AWC Dublin, and Candace Silvera, AWC Central Scotland for their ongoing commitment, dedication and achievement as FAWCO Reps for their clubs. Thank you for all you do and congratulations!
Education Awards and Development Grants
A review of the 2023 recipients was presented at the conference on Saturday. On Sunday, March 17, the 2024 recipients of the Education Awards and Development Grants were announced. Congratulations! Check out The FAWCO Foundation website for more details.
Environment Target Project Awesome Blossoms 2023-2025
Target Chair Amanda Drollinger, AWCC Scotland, presented updates from the Awesome Blossoms - Safe Spaces Project, Kenya during her report in the the general sessions. Hydroponic equipment has been installed at two schools, training of peer educators has been accomplished and harvesting is proceeding. We also were able to connect live via Zoom with Safe Spaces Director Peninah Nthenya Musyimi and participants in the Project. Fundraising is going well and Target Fundraising Chair, Lauren Mescon, FAUSA, from The FAWCO Foundation reported that 112,000 USD has been raised so far with 11 more months of fundraising to go.
Literacy is Our Legacy – A Celebration
At the Interim Meeting in Porto, Elsie Bose, , introduced FAWCO’s new Literacy Is Our Legacy initiative – supporting FAWCO’s writers and would-be writers and promoting reading and literacy worldwide. More events and information to be shared throughout this Celebration!
Peju Abuchi – A Blessing of Hands
