We have not yet reached the end of an exciting election season: a battle remains that is important for both sides with the December 2 Georgia runoff election between Republican incumbent Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) and Democratic challenger Jim Martin. Early voting in most counties will begin on Monday, November 17.   FAWCO partner Overseas Vote Foundation (OVF) has announced a customized version of its newly upgraded online Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot, available now to the 173,000 overseas and military voters eligible to cast ballots in the upcoming U.S. Senate Runoff Election in Georgia being held on December 2, 2008.

The Atlanta Constitution recommends: Given the short time before deadline, the Secretary of State’s office urges people who want to vote by mail to do so as soon as possible to ensure receipt by the deadline.

OVF’s Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot, developed with the support of The Pew Charitable Trusts’ Make Voting Work Program, has been confirmed as approved by the Georgia Office of the Secretary of State Elections Division for use in the Georgia U.S. Senate Runoff Election and will be accepted by all Georgia election offices.

In view of the tremendous interest shown by overseas voters in the 2008 election, FAWCO urges all overseas Georgia voters to take advantage of this quick, secure, easy way to get your ballot in on time.
