One of the most interesting events at the Boston Conference was a journalist panel featuring Robin Young, host of WBUR and Public Radio International's "Here and Now", which is heard on National Public Radio. Robin Young was so interested in our group that she came back the next day to interview two FAUSA members--Paula Lucas and Dianne Reed. That interview was on "Here and Now" March 30. Cick here to listen.
You might remember that Paula turned a potential tragedy into an opportunity to help overseas Americans involved in domestic violence situations. After fleeing an abusive husband in Dubai with her two sons, she founded the Americans Overseas Domestic Violence Crisis Center, headquartered in Portland, OR.
Dianne survived a terrorist attack in Saudia Arabia with severe injuries to her leg from gunshot wounds. After many surgeries, Dianne was able to complete a marathon this winter.
Robin Young’s show usually is aired on the following stations in the Boston/Cape Cod area:
WBUR 90.9 FM Boston
WBUR 1240 AM West Yarmouth
WCCT 90.3 FM Harwich
WSDH 91.5 FM Sandwich
