Today, the Working Group on Girls, a coalition of over 80 national and international NGOs with representation at the United Nations, held the first Girl’s Tribunal on Violence. The Tribunal involved girl activists from around the world who testified about their personal experiences witnessing violence in their communities, schools and in the media.
The 57th UN CSW officially begins tomorrow in New York City with 6,000 delegates from 800 organizations expected to attend. CSW stands for the Commission on the Status of Women and it takes place every year during the first 2 weeks of March at the United Nations.
