What an amazing experience! The Region 6 Meeting was everything it was meant to be: engaging, inspiring, fun and relaxing. We started off by choosing the perfect venue – a family-run spa resort in the beautiful Lenzerheide region of Switzerland. No detail was too small for this resort to handle with care. From the welcome dinner on Saturday night to the conference, mid-morning snack and post-conference lunch, everything was catered to perfection.
And then there was our conference lineup! Fantastic. Belen kicked things off with an overview of FAWCO, which included interactive poll questions. Interestingly, only a quarter of our participants were well-versed in FAWCO. That just goes to show how valuable these meetings are: 100% of our participants walked away with a better understanding of who we are and what we do.
The agenda was filled with engaging speakers. Angie Aebersold brought us up to speed on The FAWCO Foundation’s activities. Stacy Ciulik from Bern shared her insights from the AI for Good conference in Geneva. Carol McEowen, also from Bern, then led a highly engaging interactive session on the topic, which ties in with her monthly Contemporary Issues Interest Group in Bern. Next was Shawn Watson, again from Bern, who highlighted Inspiring Women magazine. And last – but certainly not least – Karyn Wynn from Zurich summarized the complex world of Americans voting from overseas.
All in all, we had a fabulous time and even scheduled several intra-club events before the year’s end.
