In Memoriam Pam Dahlgren FAWCO President 2001-2003

Pam_DahlgrenIt was with great sadness that the FAWCO Board received the news of a FAWCO Counselor passing away on January 5. Pam Dahlgren (FAUSA and AW of Surrey) was one of our outstanding and distinguished FAWCO volunteers.

On behalf of all her FAWCO friends, we send our deepest condolences to her family. Her husband Bob has requested that if people send cards or emails, to please include memories of Pam as he is collecting them for the memorial service. Click here for Pam's Obituary. The family has asked that instead of flowers, please donate to the FAWCO Foundation -  Donate here for the NEEEDS program that provides further education for young women in Burkina Faso.

As an individual she was marked by exceptional strength and vigor of spirit and dedication, who never sought the limelight but who certainly earned it.

Pam attended her first FAWCO conference in Brussels in 1990 and in 1995 was named Bylaws and Administrative Guidelines Chair, a position that she held to the end. After serving as FAWCO's 3rd Vice President for Committees, Pam assumed the Presidency in 2001. Pam was later recruited by two successive presidents to serve as Parliamentarian because of her expertise with parliamentary procedure.

In recognition of Pam's years of service to the goals and ideals of FAWCO, she was awarded a Circle of Honor in 2007. Continuing to work non-stop, Pam's dedicated her analytical talents to the FAWCO Bylaws and Administrative Guidelines due not only to a personal passion but also to having served as President of AW of Surrey and in several FAWCO positions. We are powerfully reminded of Pam's expertise and attention to detail by the careful and complete record of bylaw changes over the years she compiled so that as we look back, we will be able to see how our organization has changed and why.  This is so typical of Pam's dedication and commitment to her work.
