Save Energy and Money at Home

Save Energy and Money at Home - websites to inform you!
April 2006

If you are interested in energy efficiency in general and saving money at home in particular, please check out the Energy Star website www.energystar.gov.  The Northeast Sustainable Energy Associations website www.nesea.org is also a good one to look at. Their magazine in its fall 2001 issue printed an article entitled "Eleven Easy Things you can do to save Energy and Money at Home" (go to the www.nesea.org home page, click on Publications and then click on Northeast Sun to read articles in all the recent issues). This article was written by Warren Leon, former Executive Director of NESEA. (There is another interesting article on "Global Warming and National Security" by William Moomaw in the Fall 2003 issue (Volume 21, #4)). For additional suggestions on saving energy at home, see the websites of the Alliance to Save Energy (www.ase.org), the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (www.aceee.org), the Natural Resources Defense Council (www.nrdc.org), the Rocky Mountain Institute (www.rmi.org), and the US Department of Energy (www.eren.doe.gov/consumerinfo/energy_savers). You may also want to get The Consumer Guide to Home Energy Saving. The most recent edition of this handy guide was published in November 1999 by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy. This website is posted on FAWCO's Environment Committee webpage with permission from Nancy Hazard, Interim Executive Director of NESEA.
