Just wanted to let you know that AWC Stockholm held a really successful FAWCO Bowling Night in April. We called it FAWCO Rock 'n' Bowl, opened it up to families and friends and everyone had a terrific time bowing to disco music and enjoying some drinks. We got a terrific turnout - we rented out all 8 lanes at the bowling alley and filled the lanes to capacity with 48 bowlers. Everyone had a great time, with about 20 people continuing on to the Hard Rock Café across the street after the festivities. We raised about $240 (US) to cover FAWCO-related expenses for our club.

One thing that we did for this event which worked especially well for us was that we recruited 8 team leaders, each "responsible" for filling up their lane. This allowed the organizers to concentrate on first finding these 8 key people, but let us off the hook for trying to drum up attendees to fill the lanes. This was the first time we've used this technique (to the best of my knowledge) and since it worked so well for us I'm sure it's a technique we'll be using again.
