The 28th session of the Human Rights Council (HRC28) was held March 3-27, 2015, in Geneva. The HRC28 Program of Work was filled with important human rights issues. Stacy Lara, FAWCO's UN NGO Rep at the Human Rights Council, kept us informed via her blog posts during the session.

Human Rights Council Annual Full Day on Child Rights

Every March the HRC, holds the annual full-day discussion on the rights of the child.  This year’s theme was “towards better investment in the rights of the child” brought compelling dialogue exchange.

On March 12, during the annual discussion, Governments were urged to change attitudes and strengthen the transparency of their policies on children. In this respect, it was noted that corrupt Governments had a negative impact upon the fulfilment of the rights of children and that Governments should be held accountable for the rights of children.

Distinguished Delegates,

It is an honour for me to address the High-Level Segment of the Human Rights Council for the first time.
