BREAKING NEWS - The Senate Voting Rights Bill, S. 565, the "Martin Luther King Jr. Equal Protection of Voting Rights Act" passed overwhelmingly (99-1) in the Senate on April 11. The bill as passed included the Rockefeller Amendment (whose purpose was "To meet the needs of both military and civilian overseas voters by providing treatment more nearly equal to that of at-home voters").

Many thanks to all those who contacted their Senators to express the views of overseas voters. The nicest (and most constructive) thing you could do now would be to send an email thanking them for their support (the only nay vote was Senator Burns, R-MT). See the list of U.S. Senators for their email address and remember to state your voting address!

The House and Senate election reform bills will now go into conference and this page will be continuously updated as to progress.
