Goals of the UN NGO Team

• Representing FAWCO at United Nations meetings and conferences
• Getting FAWCO members involved in supporting the MDG’s, the FAWCO Target Program as well as other UN –related projects.
• Providing information to FAWCO members on UN activities and programs related to global issues of concern to FAWCO members

Specific Goals 2009- 2011

• Encourage each member club to have at least one UN NGO Advocate
• Revamp the FAWCO NGO website to include more information on how members can educate and involve themselves directly in global issues or on specific UN-related projects.

The UN NGO Team – Want to Help?

The UN NGO Team is looking for volunteers who are interested in the world affairs and the work of the United Nations.  Specific positions are:

UN Representatives- We need UN NGO Representatives who live in or near the main UN offices in New York, Geneva, and Vienna to attend regular meetings and conferences on UN issues.

UN NGO Advocate- These are members who do not live in or near the major UN Offices but are interested in the global issues and UN. These Advocates would serve as a local resource to support FAWCO NGO activities locally.

NGO Youth Coordinator-  We are looking for someone who is interested in planning and organizing activities aimed at encouraging FAWCO member children and teens to become involved in world  and UN issues
