UN Day - October 24

Un-flag-squareToday - October 24, the UN will mark the  57th anniversary of the day when the UN Charter officially came into force. It was established to highlight and celebrate the achievements of the UN.  UN Associations around the world use the day to remind people of the history of the UN and what the UN has been doing to combat some of the wolrd's toughtest problems, such as hunger, poverty, HIV/AIDS, malaria as well as continuing to play a vital role of peace-keeping. FAWCO approved a new logo, tagline and Mission Statement

at its Interim Meeting in Frankfurt, Germany on March 13, 2016.


FAWCO is an international federation of independent organizations whose mission is

  • to build strong support networks for its American and international membership;
  • to improve the lives of women and girls worldwide;
  • to advocate for the rights of U.S. citizens overseas; and
  • to mobilize the skills of its membership in support of global initiatives for education, the environment, health and human rights.
