Position Description
UN NGO Advocate
As a member of the UN NGO Team, the UN NGO Advocate will report to the UN NGO Director and will expected to fulfill the following role:
- To provide a direct communication link with their local club and the FAWCO NGO team on issues related to the UN and other NGO activities
- To work as a liaison with local in-country UN associations and/or other NGO’s
- To organize at least one annual project locally related to the UN
- To promote FAWCO’s UN NGO activities in local club newsletters and bulletins
- To work with the FAWCO Rep to promote FAWCO’s new Target Program related to the MDG’s .
- To inform FAWCO of local club initiatives on the UN and UN related issues
- To coordinate with the appropriate Global Issues Task Force regarding UN -related projectsof the club
- To submit an annual report on UN and NGO related activities
Ideal Attributes
- A keen interest in world affairs and specifically the United Nations
- A person who is committed to social justice, humanitarian or social causes
- A person who enjoys working and organizing projects and/or fundraisers
- Someone who is committed to the FAWCO R & R’s
Time Commitment
- Flexible depending upon the individual but probably 4-6 hours per month
