FAWCO was honored to be invited to a meeting of the World Health Organization (WHO) along with officials and select NGOs on February 23, 2006 as part of a health advisory group. WHO is seeking partnerships and alliances with NGOs to create sustainable action in improving world health. As a result of this meeting a plan of action was drawn up. FAWCO's efforts in malaria prevention was noted by WHO in their new publication: "From Vision to Action: NGOs Promoting Health in a Globalized World." This publication is in support of the Bangkok Charter for Health Promotion in a Globalized World. Besides information on the charter, the booklet features best practices of 27 selected NGOs. FAWCO is the second NGO listed with information on our organization and our NetWorks initiative. This initiative demonstrated FAWCO's commitment to improving global health: our partnership with BioVision to support an integrated approach to malaria prevention in Nyabondo and Malindi, Kenya.
